Who is Jamie Luca?
I'm a photographer from LA with too many ideas!
What should people expect from you when working with you?
FREEDOM. I tend to work in a free flowing environment where I just let my imagination go. Having an open mind when working with me would be an asset.
Where do you find inspiration for your work?
I find it in the mundane/ innocuous things. I know weird answer but I like the challenge of making the ordinary interesting and worth looking at.
What, in your opinion, defines a good photography?
TECHNIQUE. I come from an old school world of photography so I look at the technical things of a photograph. Nowadays, you can push a button and it does everything. There's something to be said about an impeccably composed and beautifully exposed image. What do they say, "The Devil is in the Details!"
What has been your most memorable shoot, and why?
When I shot Billie Eilish. I shot her when she was only 13 years old. She barely had the Ocean Eyes single out and even then she was genuine and very true to herself. Although, I had no idea the stardom that she catapulted in. I'm so happy that I helped in some way.
Do you have any advice for aspiring photographers?
I have 2 things to say about this:
1) Tenacity -- persevere and just keep shooting.
2) Know yourself -- do things that you love to do or shoot.
