Mario Adrion (24) is a well travelled model and a social media star with a huge growing fanbase. We met him for a photoshoot in Beverly Hills, and got to know this energetic and welcoming german guy with the superstar looks.
Hey Mario! How are you, and what’s going on in your life right now?
I am fantastic! I'm currently in my hometown in Germany spending some time with my family before going on a two months trip to South Korea! I will be filming a mini documentary there with a German TV channel and doing some modeling jobs at the same time.
Nice, and what is the documentary about?
It will be about the beauty image in Asia that is very western.
If you should introduce yourself and tell a little about who you are, what would you say?
I always introduce myself saying: "Itsamee Maario!" ;-) In many ways I can relate to Super Mario. Even though I'm not Italian I am constantly traveling from one world to another. I managed to combine my job as a model with my own YouTube channel so I can create videos while traveling the world. The only thing missing at this point is "Princess Peach". I haven't found her yet but I'm enjoying the journey!
How would your friends describe you?
The one word I always get is adventurous! I don't need a lot of stability in my life at this point and love nothing more than to challenge myself by getting out of my comfort zone and to put myself into unknown situations!

How did you start modeling?
I was randomly discovered by a Scout on Facebook. He messaged me that I should go to New York City to become a model. Two weeks later I took a risk and just booked a flight from Germany to New York without knowing what was going to happen!
What does fashion mean to you?
Even though I'm working in the Fashion Industry I don't follow the latest trends or big designers. For me Fashion is a way of expressing myself and I like to make fun the priority. That's why I love vintage stores where I can find unique pieces that I can combine and make it my own.
You have your own YouTube channel; what made you start it, and what will you say its about?
I have always loved creating things and modeling was often limiting that creativity. After I received many of the same questions on Instagram about my job as a model, my diet or my workouts I decided to just make one video where I answer those questions. From there it has evolved into a channel where I inspire people to take risks and achieve their goals while taking them with me on my journey as a model and actor around the world.
Which youtubers do you watch yourself?
I love Casey Neistat and the way he uses cinematography for story telling. Besides from that I watch Trevor Noah's YouTube channel because he combines political education and entertainment in a very original way!
Whats the craziest thing youve ever done?
For Milan Fashion Week this year I took a picture for a YouTube Thumbnail holding a sign saying "Truth" in front of the Versace Villa. I was not wearing any clothes and at that time Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner come out and were surrounded by paparazzi while I was in the middle of it all not wearing anything. The title of the Video is "The Naked Truth about Modeling" and shows the big difference between the glamorous perception of modeling through the media and the actual unglamorous life of a male model.
What is your fascination for carrots all about?
I genuinely fell in love with carrots while modeling in New York! They never get brown spots, they don't need to be refrigerated and were the perfect snack during stressful casting days in probably the fastest city in the world. I am also a very haptical eater so I love the texture and the sound a carrot makes when I bite it. Plus they are high in fibre, low in calories and help me to stay fit. They are always there for me. It was meant to be.
Who do you look up to?
I look up to my grandfather who was the most calm and genuinely grounded person I have met even though he has been through a lot including Second World War. He raised my father and six kids and was still working in the forest in my home town when he was in his 80s!
If you had 5 minutes with Donald Trump, what would you say to him?
I would say that I love what the US has given me and that I appreciate the freedom and all the great opportunities in this country. At the same time I would tell him that as a European it is absolutely insane for me to imagine living in a country where I have to get in debt for going to university while over 700 billion dollars are spent on the military! Plus- due to his already orange teint- he would be the only person in the world I would not suggest eating any more carrots.
What is your top 3 travel destinations?
I believe the experience while traveling always depends on the people you meet. But combining landscape, food and people I would rank my travel destinations:
1) Peru- unbelievable food, very affordable and extremely positive and kind people!
2) Berlin- incredible night life and music culture and very young international city!
3) Bali- perfect for a little work vacation- stunning beaches and great for networking!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I will be still sharing my message on Social Media but might want a little more stability at that time. I could see myself having a home base in Los Angeles while working more for other platforms or even Television. And who knows...maybe I will have found Princess Peach by then! ;-)
